There are plenty of legendary native sons and daughters of Detroit when it comes to music history. Aside from the Motown days, one name that immediately springs to mind in this respect is one Jack White.
Stepping up out of that lineage now are the Detroit-based Bus Stop Poets who are gearing up to release a new LP, Leave It To The Kids, on July 26th. Comprised of John Mabilia (vocals, guitar), Johnny Edick (bass, bg vox), Randy Nelson (drums, percussion, bg vox), and Cindee Lish (vocals, percussion), the band evokes one of White’s solo work and other project, The Raconteurs, with a particular pop sensibility.
Leave It To The Kids is teased by singles “You Won’t Miss Me” and “Blow” the former of which is an uptempo, barroom burner and the latter an open road slice of country-rock as Bus Stop Poets showcase the breadth of their sound and style.
We can’t wait for the drop of Leave It To The Kids later this week and recommend you pre-order your copy here.
