The Honeyrunners are a Northern take on Southern Roots and Americana – hot-blooded and rife with the poetry of heartache. Their energy is contagious on debut album, Everything Is On Fire, out on October 22: a tapestry of rhythm and melody, underpinned with desperate optimism and a stark reminder of why your presence is needed in times like these.
“Ghosts” is a response to a public outpouring of anxiety and depression, calling out the whispers in our head that keep us up at night. There are a lot of ghosts around when the world sleeps; this song is about embracing them. Incorporating deft musicianship, a tight rhythm section, and heartfelt vocals, it’s a fantastic introduction to the band.
“Ghosts” is a great table setter for their new album, which can’t come soon enough.
