Before forming the band, The Actual Goners met at Vancouver Island University. After working on several musical projects together, they went their separate ways but always knew they wanted to work together again. They reconvened in Toronto and began playing shows under the current moniker in 2018.
Their new single “Back Lane” pays homage to Canadian and American roots-rock musicians while incorporating contemporary elements into the sound.
“The general sentiment of this tune is a positive one. It chooses to take an optimistic view in dealing with the loneliness that comes with the failure of a relationship, and the inevitable loss of a very close friendship.”
