New York artist Liz Asaro is inspired by an eclectic mix of modern pop and ’90s artists like Alanis Morissette, The Cranberries, Arctic Monkeys, P!nk, and twentyone pilots. We are excited about the music she has put out and can’t wait to see what she’s got in store this Fall and beyond. Today we’re thrilled to premiere her new song “High” – streaming below! The song features Asaro’s beautiful vocals combining with a huge hook to create one of the most enjoyable songs of the Summer. “High” was recorded in London and features production by Brendan Davies and Alex Elliott. Cowritten with Elliott, Asaro also assembled a world-class group of musicians for “High,” including bassist Tim Lefebvre (Elvis Costello, David Bowie) and drummer David “Greenie” Green.

In her own words:

“To be frank, “High” is about being high. Could be about being on drugs, but it’s also just about letting go, letting your mind run feeling good in the moment. It really can be about any kind of high that makes you happy and gets you out of your every day routines. It was somewhat personal to write, because like anyone else, I can get super stressed about getting my list of of stuff done. Being in a state where you can let everything go and just let all sensory stuff take over is amazing. I tend to write about a lot of human nature stuff, cuz I get caught up with why we do the things we do and make the choices we make as humans. Kinda fun to just write about sex and drugs sometimes.”
