LA via Philadelphia pop artist Payson Lewis recently dropped his single, “When Love Was Young,” and the song is winning over audiences with his big band pop sound and impeccable vocals. It’s clear that Payson is a jack of many trades. He has several big-time acting credits to his name, and most recently, his talent is flourishing as an artist and a songwriter. Drawing on the influences of his youth and inspiration from his life and the world around him, he is creating a new band-driven pop sound that simultaneously feels new and yet, familiar. We are excited to premiere the video to his acoustic version of “When Love Was Young” today on GroundSounds! The video uses the scenic LA coastline as a backdrop to the confident, powerful combination of Payson and the piano.
In his own words:
“Looking back on love that “got away” isn’t always easy. Sometimes, we’re able look back fondly. Sometimes, we convince ourselves into thinking we’re better off now that we’ve moved on. And other times, we look back and wish that we had held on tighter. This acoustic version of ‘When Love Was Young’ definitely lives in the latter of the three. Love leaves a mark; in the memories we make, the places we share, and the days we never forget. That’s what this version of ‘When Love Was Young’ is all about.”
