Check out the upbeat single “Fake Sunflowers” from Central Coast rockers The Only Ocean. The 4-piece outfit is based in Lompoc, CA, a small town an hour outside of Santa Barbara most notable for its high security prison and its annual Flower Festival. Friends since junior high, the band taps into a level of unity that comes through in every guitar strum and snare hit. Their tight, modern grooves lock together to support a subtle stillness in the crackling guitars and soaring vocals. This is a solid track that we can tell pulls from lots of different influences and we’re excited to hear what else these guys cook up this year.
