San Francisco based folk singer/songwriter Derek Ted is probably best known for his work playing in the folk rock band Owl Paws, however he recently released his first solo project ‘Wilted in Summer,’ which delves into a darker side of songwriting, it is an emotionally raw and experimental LP. Featured on the album is the fresh new track “Cascade Spilling,” the accompanying video is now premiering exclusively on GroundSounds.

Derek had this to say about his latest track and video:

“Cascade Spilling” was written on the tail end of a relationship, trying to hold on to something that could never be. The video was filmed all on my iPhone the day a fire hydrant was stuck by a drunk driver on my block. The water spilling all over just happen to be one of the main metaphors of the song, so i ended up going with it and making the rest of the video that day.”
