After years of playing at local establishments across the island of Newfoundland, 22-year-old Port aux Basques native LeRiche is ready to release his first single. Premiering exclusively on GroundSounds is his fresh new track “Rain,” it’s supported by a string quartet, percussion and of course the sound of rain falling (captured via microphone).

LeRiche had this to say about the latest track:

This song came about in the aftermath of a heavy Atlantic storm that hit the West coast of the island of Newfoundland, one night while I was performing in a play. As the lyric explains, “taking turns to take a look out through an exit door” , I see a figure in the middle of the parking lot, dancing in the downpour. “A tiger brave would have restrained and taken shelter under shame”. I watch as people run for safe cover while this girl (all by herself) experiences a brief, carefree moment of true freedom and fearlessness. Her beauty and innocence were the inspiration for the song.
