Even though the official release of the new album Paracosm from Washed Out isn’t available until August 13th, we can currently (and should constantly) stream the full album on YouTube.
For this album, Washed Out (a.k.a. Ernest Greene) departed on an entirely new journey. I love his earlier, sample-based work, though this album shows that the use of real instrumentation, combined in the right way with electronic elements, will always make an album sound more pristine, natural, and beautiful.
I highly recommend checking out the two-part documentary called Exploring the Sounds of ‘Paracosm’ from The Creators Project. It delves into the sounds and methods behind the new album. Stream the new album above.
