Apryll Aileen is a classically trained pianist with a touch of science and spirituality. The soulful alt-pop vocalist, guitarist and songwriter from Atlantic Canada has sultry vocals and an alluring stage presence, making her a fan favourite at music festivals worldwide. Chock full of captivating lyrics and melodic hooks, Aileen’s songwriting will leave you saturated in all the feels; wanting to dance, but also contemplate life’s meaning. Her album, Bad Things, is slated for release this September.
She teamed up with JUNO Award-winning electronic pop producer Corey LeRue (Neon Dreams, Ria Mae) for “Our Time,” a dreamy single inspired by summer romance. Intended to be lighthearted and free from the heaviness of heartbreak, “like if Carrie from Sex and the City played piano and wrote love songs,” Aileen elaborates that “People come into our lives for a small moment, a few years or a lifetime. Accepting the terms of the season, and appreciating the fun for what it is, is a beautiful way to keep the love and friendship alive.”
The sing-along earworm with sweet island sounds and a danceable beat is accompanied by a music video filmed at Cavendish Beach, Prince Edward Island National Park by Benjamin Edward, with artistic direction and styling by Maïa Davies (Ladies of the Canyon, Darkometro).
