Both originating from the meme-dominated internet music realm, Rebecca Black and Slayyyter have teamed up to create a hyperpop punk anthem for the ages with ‘Read My Mind’. The popstar duo bring glitz and glam to the gas station in the accompanying music video, shot by Weston Allen, pining for the motorcycle rider of their Route 66 rest-stop fantasies.
Upon discussing the collaboration with Slayyyter, Black said,
“Slayyyter has been one of my favorite artists over the past few years,” Rebecca Black admits about the epic collaboration, “and I loved every second of making this song with her!!! After perfecting this song over the course of a year, its magic, its fantastical and everything I’d hoped for to kick off this new era. Stan! Glam rage is here!”
The ‘Friday’-famed singer, songwriter, and queer creator is gearing up for the first leg of her debut headline tour, “Rebecca Black Was Here”, across North America, followed by a second leg in the UK and Europe. The nearly sold-out tour kicks off on January 13th in Washington, DC and sees her performing with DJ, songwriter, and producer Alice Longyu Gao, as well as the hyperpop genre’s laptopmusicgirl Amara CTK100 who will support across select dates of the United Kingdom and Europe.
