Off the heels of yet another Latin GRAMMY nomination this week and an NPR ‘Tiny Desk (Home) Concert’, 21-year-old rising Argentine star, songwriter, singer and rapper Nicki Nicole continues to display her genre-dexterity, releasing a new ballad ‘Parte De Mí,’ the title-track off her next studio album which will be released later this fall. About the song, she shared,
“‘Parte de Mí’ is a song very special to me. I would say the most personal track I’ve recorded to this day. I wrote it for someone who is no longer with us, but a person who touched me deeply. This song is ‘a part of me’ for you all, and for you to feel it in your own way too. It is also the reason I named my next album ‘Parte De Mí.”
At 17 years old, Nicki Nicole began following her friends who hunted down freestyle MC competitions in public squares around their hometown of Rosario, Argentina. Enchanted by the quick-thinking versatility of the rappers, Nicole began experimenting with her own sound that combines pop, hip-hop and reggaeton, uploading the results to YouTube. Now, she’s accumulated two Latin GRAMMY nominations, the first Argentinian performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and 10 million followers on Instagram.
