Formerly a drummer for We Are Scientists, Bishop Allen, Fool’s Gold and Yellow Ostrich. Practice is a NYC-based indie artist with his upcoming debut album “Not A Game” on February 19. Practice (Michael Trapper) had a 1-on-1 interview with our own Jessey Alley. Discussing the adjustments to music during the pandemic, the interests in electronic and synth music, and much more.
“I decided I wanted the project to be something I could perform by myself because live performance has always been an important part of music for me, but I didn’t want to just perform to recorded tracks, nor did I want to try to wrangle a band together. I felt like I could put together a solo live setup with synthesizers and drum machines, but I didn’t know exactly how. So I started going to my practice space every day, revving up my synths, and constructing the song.” Practice itself was born along with a connection to the practice of meditation itself.
With the release of the new album be sure to check the album out along with our exclusive interview with him. Below are the social media links to Groundsounds and Practice as well as the link to the Interview. Check it all out!
