Completely co-written and co-produced between Ellie Dixon and Austin Prince from either side of the Atlantic (Ellie in the UK and Austin in the US), New Waves is a dreamy alt-pop single exploring the feeling of wanting to shed old skin and evolve while feeling stuck in the same environment. The duet details feelings experienced by many over lockdown, transporting the listener into an enchanting universe of tenderness and honesty.
With the relaxation of vocals throughout the song brings comforting vibes, which is perfect with the message behind the song and the creation of the song. During the pandemic Ellie and Austin messaged each other to create this Indie-Pop collaboration “New Wave”, in the music video they reenact the creation of the song from across the world.
