Lourdiz, the buzzing new singer/songwriter/producer, follows previous hits “I’m Pissed” and “Suicide Down” with her biggest track yet in “Ground Control.” For her latest, the 18-year-old recruits the popular new bilingual recording artist Jon Z (“Go Loko”) to help bring out her full creativity. And with Jon Z, Lourdiz unveils an impressive animated visual directed by SLEEPxTITE.
For the new video, Lourdiz delivers a stunning experimental experience that showcases the rising star’s full potential. Pulling from her family’s heritage and bilingual upbringing, the genre-bending Mexican-American showcases her signature style of experimental Hip-Hop.
“When I wrote the song I wanted to find a way to blend elements from the music I grew up listening to with the artists I love today,” she wrote in a press release. “My family’s Mexican culture is a big part of my identity, it’s who I am and where I came from, so it’s all about blending my past and my future. I’m very grateful for the experience of writing this record with Jon Z. It was a very grounding process and bringing in his vibe was the key.”
Watch it now. “Ground Control” creates anticipation for Lourdiz new album, slated for a late-2020 release. The new song is available now on Lourdiz own imprint.
