Casey Conroy, an Orlando-native, infuses her music with a fresh and eclectic melodic sound that can only be referred to as “defiant indie-pop.” Growing up to different musical genres, allowing her to discover the power of storytelling and create music that was out of the box. Music made her feel she could have a voice, a message that was echoed by her father, with Casey writing her first song at 7 years old. That moment fueled her desire to continue writing and exploring different musical artists.
Over the past few years, Casey has spent the time writing and recording music. Overcoming the trials and tribulations the befall many artists today, with the help of her production team, Casey has been about to expertly navigate the music industry to create music that is raw, honest, unapologetic and empowering, interpreting this generations’ sensibilities through her lyrics.
Today we’re thrilled to premiere her new video for “Best Shoes” – streaming below! A vulnerable, exposed track, “Best Shoes” is written for all of us that constantly get up in the morning, put out best foot forward, and yet the world just knocks us back down. Getting to a point where we feel so defeated and wanting to run back home, to all the safety and innocence that our homes represent, wishing we could just call our parents and just bare all and tell them everything that’s wrong. Acoustically driven with a bare production, the single soars and entrances poignantly delivered by Casey’s exceptional vocal delivery, infusing story-like song that will surely be added for repeated listening. It’s a fantastic track, and the video is the perfect accompaniment…we are excited to share this!
In her own words:
“I wrote Best Shoes in a moment where I constantly felt like I was getting up everyday, putting my best foot forward and the world was just knocking me back down. It got to a point where I felt so defeated I just wanted to run home, to the safety and innocence of what it represents. I wanted to call my mom and tell her I was hurting. Best Shoes is that conversation you have, sitting at the end of her bed, telling her everything that’s wrong.”
