Last Friday, NYC-based rockers Parrot Dream unveiled their debut LP, Light Goes, via Good Eye Records. The ten-track album is a wonderful swirl of dreamy textures which often belies the heavier subject matter at play thematically. Although cohesive in its sonic narrative, Light Goes manages to open up a new world with each song plunging you deep into its shimmering pools.
“Light Goes was written mostly during a transitional period after moving from Santiago, Chile to NYC,” the band shares. “It’s influenced by the experiences we have had trying to build a life here, musically and otherwise – it draws upon feelings of anxiety and loss, while reflecting on change, and relationships created & morphed.”
