Check out his new music video below, and what his thoughts about it were!
About the video: “I had been acting in several of my friends videos recently, some where I had prominent roles, but For my video I wanted to make sure I was telling the story of the song with my words, but also non verbally by expressing emotions with body language and movement. I wanted to keep the video somewhat minimal but with interesting colors and I used a few of my friends videos as reference. I wanted to have dancers featured to help bring out the energy of the drop. It pretty much (came out how I wanted it to), and the director pushed for a little more “dialogue” between me and the girl Actor which opened it up a bit. Overall I’m happy with the delivery.”
About the song: “It was inspired off of a weird ass one-off date where this girl was telling me crazy stories of her past relationships. The whole time I was thinking about how I wouldn’t ever go out with her again, but I didn’t shut it down because her stories were inspiring me immediately. I was sitting next to her writing lyrics at the bar while she was rambling…I already had the melody for the chorus from a freestyle a few months earlier, but the production took a minute as I did like 15 different versions. The song is about the first line of the hook: “you and I give love a bad rap”. I wasn’t stealing from Bon Jovi’s concept, but looking back I see some resemblance lol. I really dig into my own past experiences of being young and stupid, and again, this particular date had some great stories that I was able to borrow. “
