River Hooks is no stranger to the music business, but is a relative newcomer to the artist-side of things. She’s a true up-and-comer and is ready to make a splash with music she’s composed entirely on her own. Her music already has a skilled polish and a genuine “speak from the heart” quality that many artists fail to capture. We’re thrilled to premiere her new track “Worth It” today on GroundSounds. The song is chill and captivating, with River’s vocals perfectly matching the music’s vibe. What better way to announce yourself than releasing a track like this on your birthday. Turn this one up loud, enjoy it, then hit her up on socials to wish her a happy birthday and let her know what you think!
In her own words:
The song is about me realizing at the age of 22 that time isn’t going to stop just for me to make my dreams come true. Living in NYC everything happens so fast. You don’t even notice how fast the week has gone by half the time. I just want to show people that I’m “worth it.” To give me a chance at something I dream about every second of the day. I don’t want to look back on my life not knowing what could’ve have been. I produce everything and write all my music in my small studio apartment. I look up to Billie Eilish, Jessie Reyez, and Kanye West. They take chances and inspire me to just go after your dreams. This is my song to show people who I am and my worth.
