PREMIERE: The Hollow Ends – “City Lights”

St. Louis-based group The Hollow Ends bring something a refreshingly real energy with their blend of folk and punk. Fronted by songwriter Zachary Schwartz, The Hollow Ends are gearing up to release a new LP, Bears In Mind, on July 27th. GroundSounds is bringing you the exclusive premiere of the album’s latest single, “City Lights,” today.

With “City Lights,” The Hollow Ends craft a sweeping, string-led atmosphere as Schwartz’s brilliant voice and lyrics carry you away on a devil-may-care adventure.

“Perhaps people who group up in cities don’t get this, but for someone like me who grew up in a small town, there’s still something breathtaking about driving to a new city and watching the skyline rise above the horizon. It’s simultaneously exciting and terrifying, and even as someone who travels a lot on tour, it feels like the possibilities are endless, and that you’re not at all prepared for it. I think that’s an experience unique to an American road trip.
