Hip Hop fans were surprised this week by a brand new EP from up and coming rapper Cdot Honcho. Honcho, (22) a Chicago native who got his start on the free streaming service Soundcloud, has been constantly pumping out bangers and bumps since his self titled project back in 2015, and his newest single, FETISH is no exception.
The track begins with screaming synths and a catchy hook where the artist proclaims his selfish fetish for “cheddar.” The production on this record is very clean. The bass bumps, and the vocals are mixed well. It’s the kind of song where you can’t help but bop your head along with the beat. Honcho’s lyrics focus on his constant flex head to toe: this man goes hard. Chains, pants from Italy, shoes by Margiela, “designer he can throw away”.
The track comes out as the lead single from his Head Honcho EP on Wednesday, May 30th. If the rest of the tracks go this hard, then we see another success from Cdot Honcho.
