The Naked Sun may or may not have coined the phrase, but “honest rock” has unquestionably been their ethos since their start back in 2011—and few bands embody its spirit like they do. Their debut album War With Shadows comes out this Friday, Jan 26. We are thrilled to premiere the new video for “Do You Wanna Dance?” today on GroundSounds. The band treats us to an eclectic video that provides a fitting visual accompaniment to the fantastic song.

For this video we worked with the prolific Philadelphia based videographer Bob Sweeney. Bod has worked with everyone in the Philly music scene, everyone. Bob and I had this idea where we showed all of the stages of a local music show. The fans getting ready for the show, the band getting ready, and that culminating moment where fans and band meet in a joyous moment of musical ecstasy. What a more perfect song to do this with than, “Do You Wanna Dance?” For this video we asked our fans coming out to the show to shoot cell phone footage of them getting ready, traveling to the show, arriving at the show, and filming us and themselves rocking out and dancing at the show. The video is a mixture of Bob’s footage and the footage taken by our fans. This was truly a celebration of the scene, the city, and the power of collaboration.
