She creates fresh new music, weaving intricate ballads with beautiful storytelling, Toronto based singer-songwriter Brooklyn Doran is definitely on her grind. She has been working hard on her forthcoming debut album ‘These Paper Wings,’ and now it is premiering exclusively on GroundSounds. The project was was recorded at Catherine North Studios in Hamilton Ontario.

Brooklyn had this to say about her debut record:

I’m really excited about this record, because I think it is showcasing a bit of a different sound, that I think is more representative of where I am at now as an artist- blurring the lines between adult contemporary and folk music. Each of the songs represents a different place I was in my life, over the past three years. Not The Time is about bad timing and relationships that could’ve been but never were. Say The Words is about how difficult it is to say “I Love You” for the first time in a new relationship. I Found A Home is a song I wrote for a couple I met that have been married for over 40 years whose love for one another is something I aspire to. At the end of the day, every song that has ended up being featured on this album is a song that I’ve written about a different stage of being in love (or out of love).

Stream ‘These Paper Wings’ below, it officially drops September 10th!
