Jake’s Jams: Feb 17
1. Ra Ra Riot – “Absolutely”
Every time Ra Ra Riot releases a new album, they deliver several insanely catchy tracks you can’t help but sing along with. “Absolutely” will be stuck in your head after the first listen.
2. Lauv – “Adrenaline”
This isn’t quite as new as most of the list, but it deserves to be highlighted. Lauv is amazing. His EP Lost In The Light is also amazing. “Adrenaline” is an amazing song on that EP. That pretty much sums it up.
3. SWMRS – “BRB”
I just love the energy. It brings me back to my mindset of listening to music in my youth. SWMRS – “BRB” is great, vowels be damned.
4. Roy English – “No Time Valentine”
The masses would fawn over Roy English…if they only knew about him. Soon enough he’ll be a household name. Every song he has released so far has been gold.
5. The 1975 – “UGH!”
New album is going to be massive.
6. Jay Scott and The Find – “The Other Side”
Under the radar and very exciting. Very cool song.
7. The Kooks – “Forgive & Forget”
Again, not super new, but it’s what I’m digging right now. It’s a good reminder that The Kooks are still around, still making music, and still progressing. “Forgive & Forget” bring the funk in a way we haven’t seen from them to this degree. Groove it.
8. Brian Fallon – “Smoke”
Anything Brian Fallon just works for me. “Smoke” is a different kind of anthem and has me hungry for Painkillers. No mom, not actual painkillers…
9. SLEEPLUST – “My Place”
Trio is getting better and better. 2016 will be a big year for them.
10. Lissie – “Don’t You Give Up On Me”
For how talented Lissie is, she should be a mega star. Her new album came out last week. Go give it a listen!
