We get lots of music submissions every day, from all over the world. Not to mention we also do our own digging through the internet to find and curate the artists that we enjoy listening to and that we also think have potential to grow and develop throughout time. Today is one of those instances in which an artist was sent to me by a contact and after listening through his unreleased tracks, I knew there was something special about it. This artist was Scottish Pop/Rock duo Kung Fu Jesus. I know, hell of a name, right?! Well, in any case, you definitely don’t want to judge a book by it’s cover here. Take a listen to one of their new singles “Rainbow Road” below and you’ll be treated to an upbeat, bright song with a catchy hook and with a side effect of some serious head-bobbing.
Craig Snape, the brains behind Kung Fu Jesus, comes from Lanark, Scotland. To say he is a singer/songwriter is an understatement, as he plays all the instruments on his new album Celestial Gold and does all of his own backing vocals. This young man is truly the complete artist and here at GroundSoudns, we respect that sort of commitment and hard work to your craft. It’s been a while since you will have heard such great, direct, and hook-laden tunes. Instantly able to change your mood and create an uplifting vibe. He somehow manages to sound like The Doors, The Velvets, Iggy Pop, the Cyre and Beck all at the same time whilst maintaining an individuality which is all his own. This is some sublime stuff here folks!
