Lovers & Friends is the vision of American composer and producer Ben Lovett, whose new project features a collection of songs written through a series of blind dates with different songwriters, each one the product of a spontaneous moment between unique strangers.
The resulting compositions were produced by Lovett into a set of tracks that includes each collaborating artist as a featured vocalist or instrumental contributor. The project highlights the elusive magic of the creative process and the unpredictable dynamics which emerge between two artists with no shared experience beyond the present moment.
Ben had this to say about his latest project:
“These songs are all little experiments, momentary collisions between strangers. I had never co-written songs before I started this project, so each time it started off more like a blind date than anything musical. “
