Originally from Kansas but now residing in LA, Tree Machines (Douglas Shawn Wooldridge, Patrick David Aubry) are not only making moves literally but sonically as well. They are gearing up for their debut album but before it drops the pair have one more stand-alone track, “To Be Alive,” and it is premiering exclusively on GroundSounds.

Douglas had this to say about their latest track:

“Basically it’s all stages of a relationship. ‘Summer Night’ is the happy-go-lucky part of new love. ‘To Be Alive’ is more of a ‘we’ve seen some shit together, but we love each other more for it’ type of attitude. And ‘At Arms Length’ is the ‘we’re barely keeping our heads above water and we’re drifting apart’ stage.”

Stream “To Be Alive” below and keep a lookout for the first Tree Machines album, it is on the way!
