New York based band The Fantastic Plastics have been busy creating an energetic new wave sound that makes you move. They just put the finishing touches on their forthcoming album ‘Devolver’ and it is premiering exclusively on GroundSounds.
The band had this to say about their latest LP:
“The Fantastic Plastics are a band that romanticizes the future we were promised during the space race of the 1960s; a future filled with flying cars, robot servants, 12 hour work weeks, awesome fashion and colonies on the moon. DEVOLVER is a bit of social commentary on that broken promise; a present future where scientific minds are more interested in developing apps than rockets, where George Orwell’s worst nightmare is commonplace and where fashion and media has been repeating itself for a half century… The twist is that the music is presented as upbeat fist pumping new wave pop anthems. Or as they call it “Candy Coated Cyanide.”
