Take a minute to get familiar with up-and-coming electronic artist, songwriter, and producer out of Brooklyn known as goste. Having just released his debut EP, we’re sure this is just the beginning of a very solid path within the musical cosmos, which is exactly where his music takes you. goste, whose real name is Owen Ross, is a producer, instrumentalist, and composer who has been honing his skills for quite awhile and more recently has decided to share his unique sounds with the world during the past couple of years. After touring the US and Europe in support of his earlier releases, he is back with the Eugene EP, his third. If you’re in NYC, be sure to check out his celebration of the release during a December 4th show at Cameo Gallery in Brooklyn.
In the video above, we get a really great idea of just how passionate and also how talented Owen is, manning both an electric guitar and electronic gear with pads and knobs. While he also writes all of the lyrics and music, the full sound on the record is thanks to Chris Holdridge (Drums), Bryan Percivall (Bass), and Megan Lui and Tamsin Wilson on Background Vocals. When goste does full band shows, Chris and Bryan play with Owen as well as Will Szabo (live production.) goste also frequently does solo shows where he sings, plays guitar, and operates his laptop and some samplers. To us here at GroundSounds, we call that grinding! In simpler terms, goste has carved out a unique space for his music to live. He creates only the most honest, organic, and raw material for the listener to delve into. Check out his other stellar track “Omar’s Ghoste” below, as well links to where you can follow his next moves.
