Artist Spotlight: Jerome Holloway

Brendon Goldwasser

This week, I’d like to introduce you to Jerome Holloway. When you first to listen to Jerome Holloway, you immediately become captured in his mindset. He removes you from whatever environment you may be in to the same place that he was at when he wrote the song or when he recorded it.

Jerome makes very minimal acoustic songs with elements of folk, blues, and a whole lot of soul.  He’s got a very gentle, soft voice, but you can tell that there is some serious passion and meaning behind the words he sings. I caught him opening up for a show at The Witzend in Venice. All I can say about his live performance is that it makes you happy. When you’re in the same room, hearing his tunes in the midst of other humans who are just as drawn to it and focused in on it, that really has an effect on you.

He’s currently got a couple albums available for streaming on Spotify. I suggest taking a listen to both and check out “Lay You Down” and “In The Mood For Love”, which are my favorite songs. Check out his most recent music video below, which is slowly approaching 3K views.

If you like the sounds, be sure to “”Like” his facebook page and follow him on Twitter. He’s also got some really interesting sounds on his Soundcloud page, if you feel like exploring that realm as well. Jerome Holloway is on his way, lets get behind him and back him up!
