Travis Garland Fashionably Late Vol. II Track by Track Review

The young, soulful singer-songwriter and ex-boyband crooner, Travis Garland dropped his new EP, Fashionable Late Vol. II. Despite the title, the new music is right on time. Here is the official GroundSounds track-by-track review.

Where To Land (ft. II)

Seductively layered guitars and a pulsating beat create a plush bed for Travis’ vocals to lay in. With an ascending melody and a sweet tone, Travis is like a shooting star looking to land properly in some young lady’s heart. The video for this song is awesome too.

From Adam (Interlude)

Travis floats freely above an arrangement of sustained strings and piano, allowing the sincerity in his voice to shine. Simple and sweet, the interlude is a nice change of pace in the EP. “Your beauty keeps on getting in my way,” is probably my favorite line on the entire project.

Blue Electric Roses

A smooth, spacey R&B beat that has a nice low end you can mob out to. Caught up in the stunning beauty of someone’s eyes, Travis details something of a “love at first sight” experience. The harmonies on this track are where Travis really stands out.

Neighbor

A fun, sexually charged song about the lonely girl next door. This ain’t what Mr. Rogers meant when he was asking to be your neighbor.

Homewrecker

Hard hitting stuttered drums and washy guitar strums makes for an effective pop/R&B crossover tune. Doing more than just cooking in the kitchen and breaking dishes everywhere, Travis proclaims he will turn you into a homewrecker. The song takes a really cool turn into a minimalist-electro-808-requiem type of groove.
