Weekly Grind

By Jake Craney

2/22

Welcome to the ‘Weekly Grind’ where GroundSounds Editor-in-Chief Jake Craney recaps the week in music, featuring the latest album releases, tracks, and recommendations. Plus, he keeps you up to date on GroundSounds’ exclusive music news and interviews.

The Grind

Atlas Genius released their debut full-length When It Was Now this week. After building a huge buzz following their EP Through The Glass, featuring the hit song “Trojans,” the guys from Adelaide are poised to make a big splash with this release. All three songs from the EP are on the full-length, so we’ve only got eight new tracks to enjoy. The same bouncy indie-groove you love on “Trojans” is a major theme on the album, as well as some melodic new-wave style songs. Definitely an album worth getting.

Standout Tracks:

Trojans

Through The Glass

On A Day

If So

Our video interviews with The Bolts and Capital Cities will be up next week, be on the lookout for those.

Next week, GroundSounds will be interviewing Paper Route before their show with Anberlin, as well as Royal Teeth and A Silent Film.
