Converge has just released there new album, All We Love We Leave Behind. This is like the ninth album put out over the 22-year existence of this Boston hardcore quartet.
If you’re still reading this you’re thinking one of three things:
1. “Who the hell is Converge?”
2. “It can never get better then Jane Doe”
3. “Why did I even bother to read to three this is dumb.”
To the first set of readers I would suggest checking out Converge because they have been molding and manipulating the hardcore genre since 1990, think about that. You may or may not like them, but at least you can tell your mom you tried something new today!
To the second reader I would say Converge just keeps on doing it. Minus the interruption of Axe to Fall, Converge has continued to push the boundaries of a genre that gets type-casted all too easy. All We Love We Leave Behind is like mashing Jane Doe and Petitioning the Empty into one, then laying over some STP riffs for added integrity. Needless to say it’s pretty swell and definitely worth a listen.
