“I decided I needed to revisit my past in order to take hold of my future. So I figured it would be best to go back to where it all started,” Gavriel said in regards to his recent Sacramento homecoming.
After years of living in New York, rapper Gavriel wanted to return home to make his musical presence known in his hometown. To accomplish this, he recently re-released his mixtape, I Hope You Hear Me Vol. 1.
The jacked beats from the hip-hop heavyweights like Drake and Kanye make a perfect concoction with some of the original material such as “Everytime”, and “Golden”.
In a quest to find success in the right way, Gavriel confesses he is “an avid soul who’s just taking it as it goes” on the funky guitar-driven tune “Everytime”.
”Knowing that nobody makes it all by themselves, Gavriel celebrates his crew, dedicating the smooth, brass sampling joint “Golden” to “my friends, the ones who live golden, who don’t break bonds, and have all their minds open.”
Although Gavriel may be situated in Sacramento, his raw, true hip-hop sound is one that will travel well beyond Northern California. Check out I Hope You Hear Me Vol. 1 below:
